In 2018, Josh started [GOOD POLITICAL] to work with friends on things that matter, producing digital ads for the Biden Harris campaign, helping the Parkland students with digital communications for March For Our Lives, leading the creative launch of Michelle Obama’s initiative, When We All Vote, and as Senior Creative Advisor to Governor Tony Evers defeat of Scott Walker in Wisconsin.
Josh advised The Democrats on creative and served in the Obama administration with Tom Perez as Director of Digital Strategy for the U.S. Department of Labor. He was also Video Director for the 2016 Democratic National Convention's digital efforts. He directed digital content and outreach at the founding of Tom Steyer’s political organization NextGen Climate(America), where he spent his time shining a spotlight on real people that can't ignore the impacts of climate change.
Josh spends his time exploring positive, approachable ways to message on important issues. Creating impactful reality shows (over pure documentaries), and honing his craft in political satire. This recently culminated in a pitch to Last Week Tonight that garnered attention of senior staff, and the creation of a late night web series dutifully named “The Liberal Conspiracy.”
Josh is showrunner and host of SPACEDROP (now on Amazon Prime) a weekly web series about how the average person could endure life in the extreme isolation of space. Josh was an analog astronaut on the crew of the first Moonbase simulation at the HI-SEAS habitat in Hawaii.
Josh is showrunner and host of LAST GLIMPSE on Amazon Prime, a travel series celebrating at-risk cultures in a positive, empowering light. The pilot episode takes on rising sea levels in "modern Atlantis" – the picturesque paradise of The Maldives.
In the era before Snapchat, Josh worked for President Obama’s reelection campaign, the Government of Israel, and Charlie Sheen. It is likely the only thing all three have in common. His work shared by National Geographic, The New York Times, MSNBC, CNN, NowThis, Mic, TIME, Rolling Stone, Variety, The Washington Post, @BarackObama, @HillaryClinton – and a lot of other people that tweet better than the sitting President.
Josh is a Truman Fellow, Ordained Minister, and stand-up comedian who enjoys writing and telling stories, usually not in the third person. Josh also likes film stuff, arting, advocating for unusual constituencies, Oxford commas, and taking advantage of beautiful Left Coast weather.
